Version 2026-10-13-v1. Effective 13 October 2026. Save this page or use your browser’s Print / Save as PDF command.
1st Aid Fire Limited, company number 07586711, 150 Darland Avenue, Gillingham, Kent ME7 3AS. Contact darren.young@1staidfire.com or 0808 123 2401. These terms apply to new instructions accepted from 13 October 2026. They do not retrospectively change an existing contract. Your written quotation identifies the service, premises, deliverables, exclusions, price, payment arrangements and expected dates. Any specific variation must be agreed in writing. Mandatory legal rights take priority over these terms.
An enquiry, portal application or uploaded report does not book work. For portal review orders and memberships, the contract takes effect when successful payment is confirmed for the accepted offer. For other services, the written booking confirmation identifies when the instruction is accepted. Online checkout clearly states whether payment is one-off or recurring. No VAT is currently added. We confirm separately charged expenses or additional work before you authorise them; we do not add optional extras without agreement.
We perform the agreed service with reasonable care and skill. An FRA concerns the premises, information and conditions within the agreed inspection scope at the assessment date. It is not a guarantee that a fire cannot occur, a warranty of future compliance or an exhaustive survey of concealed construction. Inspection limitations, inaccessible areas and any need for further investigation are recorded. Intrusive opening-up, specialist testing, building design and engineering calculations are included only if specifically commissioned.
Provide accurate premises details, relevant records, known hazards and authorised safe access. Tell us about changes, restrictions and urgent risks. We identify where information cannot be verified and request further evidence when needed. The client remains responsible for managing the premises, arranging necessary measures and responding to significant findings; professional advice does not transfer statutory responsibilities to us. We remain responsible for the care and skill of our own work. Do not defer urgent action while waiting for a quotation or review.
You may retain, reproduce and share the completed report for managing the specified premises, with owners, occupiers, managing agents, competent contractors, insurers and relevant authorities where appropriate. Preserve the report as a whole and identify its version and limitations. Do not alter it, claim it covers other premises or publish another person’s confidential information. Our reusable methods and templates remain our intellectual property. Third-party reliance beyond the agreed purpose requires our written agreement, without excluding any rights a person has by law.
We agree changes to scope, charges and dates before additional work. If essential evidence or access is missing, we explain the effect and agree revised arrangements. Tell us promptly if a visit must be changed. Any rescheduling or late-cancellation cost must be agreed and reflect reasonably incurred losses or work, taking account of costs saved; no automatic blanket forfeiture applies. If we cannot deliver, we discuss a revised date or cancellation and refund for services not supplied, without limiting your legal remedies. See the cancellation policy for the 14-day right and early-start arrangements.
A budget range is an indicative estimate based on stated assumptions, not a fixed works quotation. Works are commissioned under a separately agreed scope, price and contractor arrangement. We explain whether we are undertaking work ourselves, acting as your adviser or introducing an independent contractor, and disclose any relevant commercial benefit. Nothing here removes responsibility for services we contract to provide.
We accept responsibility for loss arising from our failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law and the agreed service. We do not exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything the law does not permit us to exclude. Consumer statutory rights remain intact. These terms contain no blanket exclusion of negligence and no arbitrary monetary liability cap. The effect of any information or inspection limitation depends on the circumstances and does not excuse careless work.
Send complaints to darren.young@1staidfire.com, including the premises, order reference and outcome sought. We aim to acknowledge within five working days and provide a substantive response within twenty working days, explaining any delay. These aims do not restrict urgent complaints or statutory deadlines. Where a consumer dispute remains unresolved we provide any alternative-dispute-resolution information required by law; we do not claim membership of an ADR scheme. English law applies, subject to mandatory protections for consumers. Consumers may use the courts available to them under applicable law; no exclusive jurisdiction clause removes that right.
These terms supplement the service terms and your confirmed quotation. Understand Your FRA is £95; FRA Action Plan & Budget starts at £195; Detailed FRA Second Opinion & Cost Plan starts at £295. The starting scope is one straightforward HMO or small commercial property, one FRA up to 50 pages and up to ten significant findings. Complex or specialist premises, multiple buildings and extensive evidence are separately scoped before payment. The accepted quotation fixes the actual documents, scope, final price and delivery date.
Understand Your FRA explains the findings, priorities and next steps. Action Plan & Budget adds a task schedule, appropriate trades and supportable indicative costs. Detailed Second Opinion examines the supplied report and evidence for apparent omissions, inconsistent reasoning and points needing clarification, with actions and budget estimates where supportable. You receive a separate written response through the portal. One follow-up clarification on the same issue is included; an additional report or new issue needs a separate instruction.
We review the evidence supplied, identify uncertainty and request further information as needed. This is a desktop professional service, even where its report is supplied as a PDF. It does not verify unseen premises conditions, replace the original FRA, certify compliance, confirm completed works or constitute a site inspection. We do not assume a finding is correct or incorrect solely because an original assessor included it. Recommendations requiring photographs, competent inspection, specialist testing or a visit are identified.
Budget estimates are ranges with assumptions, exclusions and stated information limitations; they may change with measurements, specifications, market conditions and access. A contractor’s firm quotation is separate. We do not promise a particular saving or that every finding can be priced from a document. Follow urgent recommendations and contact appropriate emergency services where necessary; this service is not monitored as an emergency response.
The quotation must be accepted before checkout; payment is one-off. Work starts after successful payment and the agreed start arrangements. Online immediate-start bookings require a separate express request to begin within the 14-day cancellation period. If you prefer to wait, contact us before payment to agree a start after that period and a suitable delivery date. Cancellation and statutory remedies follow the cancellation policy; uploading or downloading a professionally prepared PDF does not, by itself, remove your service cancellation rights.
Advice costs £19 per billing month for one new focused advice enquiry; Portfolio costs £49 for four. No VAT is added. Each enquiry covers one clearly defined issue and related clarification in the same conversation. Allowances renew on the billing date, not the calendar month. Unused enquiries do not roll over. A wider issue may require a separate quotation; we explain this before taking on separately charged work.
Advice is personally reviewed by Darren J Young MIFSM from the information supplied. We normally aim to reply within three working days after receiving sufficient information; complex matters may require an agreed revised timescale. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding England public holidays. Advice is not an inspection, a new FRA, design service, specialist survey, full report review, compliance certificate or emergency response. New inspections, detailed reviews and remedial works are separately scoped and priced.
The subscription renews monthly at the displayed price until cancelled. The first payment and recurring charge are shown before checkout; there is no annual commitment or paid trial. Stripe processes payments. If a payment fails, paid allowances may be unavailable while payment is resolved; we do not promise continuing paid service after an unpaid period. Your free document access is separate. A price or allowance change is notified before it takes effect; you may cancel before the affected renewal rather than accept a change. A plan change is agreed with Darren before implementation.
Use Manage membership & billing in the portal, or email darren.young@1staidfire.com. We accept email cancellation instructions; you are not required to use Stripe exclusively. Ordinary cancellation stops future renewal, with paid access continuing to the end of the paid period. If a charge occurs after a timely valid cancellation instruction, contact us so we can correct it. Initial 14-day cancellation and refunds are explained separately; they take priority over the ordinary end-of-period process. Continuing membership is not treated as fully performed merely because one enquiry has been answered.
Immediate-access online checkout asks separately for your express request to begin the service during the 14-day cancellation period. You still have the applicable right to cancel during that period, with any lawful proportionate charge explained in the cancellation policy. If you prefer a delayed start, contact Darren before payment to arrange it. Report access and downloads remain free for approved clients after paid membership ends, subject to portal access and retention arrangements.
For consumers buying a service online, by telephone or otherwise at a distance, the normal cancellation period ends 14 days after the day the contract is made. You can cancel without giving a reason. We also offer this initial 14-day cancellation arrangement contractually for new online FRA review orders and memberships bought by business clients. It does not reduce rights that apply by law, including any extension where required information was not given. For a paid portal order, successful payment confirmation is the contract date.
Email darren.young@1staidfire.com or write to 1st Aid Fire Limited, 150 Darland Avenue, Gillingham, Kent ME7 3AS. Include enough information to identify you and the instruction. You may use the form below, but any clear cancellation statement is accepted; no particular form or reason is required. For a membership, distinguish cancellation within the initial period from simply stopping the next renewal. If you use Stripe to stop renewal and also want an initial cancellation refund, tell us so we can assess that refund; using Stripe does not take away your cancellation rights.
We do not start a consumer’s service during the cancellation period without their express request. If you request early performance and then cancel before completion, a proportionate charge may be payable for the service actually supplied up to cancellation, calculated against the agreed price or a reasonable market price if that price is excessive. We explain any calculation and return the remainder. No charge for early work is imposed where the legal conditions for charging were not met.
For a one-off service performed fully during the cancellation period, the cancellation right is lost only if you expressly requested early performance and acknowledged that consequence before work started, and applicable information requirements were met. This does not remove remedies for defective services. Membership is ongoing: providing an answer or using an allowance does not automatically end the initial cancellation right. A review delivered as a PDF is treated here as a professional service, not as an instant digital download with an automatic waiver.
Where cancellation requires a refund, we reimburse without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed of cancellation, using the original payment method unless another method is expressly agreed, without a refund fee. Statutory rights to remedies for services not performed with reasonable care and skill remain. We do not apply a blanket no-refunds policy. Cancellation outside the initial period follows the agreed instruction or ordinary membership terms, subject to legal rights and fair charges.
To: 1st Aid Fire Limited, 150 Darland Avenue, Gillingham, Kent ME7 3AS; darren.young@1staidfire.com. I/We give notice that I/we cancel the following service contract: Service and order / booking reference: Ordered on / payment confirmed on: Customer name(s): Customer address: Contact email: Date: Signature(s), only if sent on paper: Delete wording that does not apply. You may send these details in an ordinary email.
The website links to Amazon; it does not take payment or fulfil those book orders. Check the seller and Amazon’s applicable purchase and cancellation information. This service cancellation policy does not replace the terms for a purchase from another seller.
Applying is free and does not subscribe you to paid membership or authorise an assessment. Registration uses your ChatGPT sign-in identity and is checked before access is approved. An organisation name alone does not grant access to documents. We assign documents to approved accounts; only use information and premises you are authorised to represent. Approval of portal access is not confirmation that any building is compliant.
Protect your sign-in account and tell us about suspected unauthorised access or changes to your authority. Do not share credentials or attempt to access another client’s records. Upload only documents and logos you are authorised to supply. Remove unnecessary tenant identifiers and identifiable health or disability information; do not upload payment-card information, medical records or passwords. We agree an alternative route if genuinely sensitive evidence is essential. A stored third-party FRA has not been reviewed or endorsed unless a separate review was commissioned.
Keep your own copies of important documents. We aim to provide reliable access but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability; contact us for another delivery route if necessary. Removal from your client view hides a report and does not erase the retained administrator copy. Account closure, suspension, retention and deletion follow the privacy notice and legal obligations. We may pause access where necessary to protect confidentiality or investigate misuse, explain the reason where appropriate and allow you to contact us. Closing portal access does not cancel a Stripe subscription; request cancellation separately.
Paid membership and one-off reviews require a separate instruction and the relevant terms. The public AI assistant supplies general information and cannot view your portfolio; do not treat its output as premises-specific professional advice. Read the privacy notice for processing, retention and your rights. We remain responsible for reasonable care and skill in our own services; portal wording does not exclude legal liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Create a free portal account and receive approval before booking your first fire risk assessment with 1st Aid Fire. No paid membership is required. The offer is for a customer or organisation that has not previously purchased an FRA from us, not simply for a new email address. It is one use for one assessment per customer or organisation; separate accounts do not create additional eligibility. We check this with you before accepting the booking.
We confirm the premises, scope and normal agreed assessment fee before applying 10%. The quotation shows the original fee, reduction and final amount. For an agreed £395 assessment fee the reduction is £39.50 and the discounted assessment fee is £355.50. These are examples for that scope, not a price promise for every property. No VAT is currently added. Separately agreed additional charges are excluded and must be disclosed before booking.
The offer excludes one-off FRA reviews, advice memberships, training, fire door surveys, remedial works and separate additional charges. It cannot be combined with another discount and cannot be retrospectively applied to an existing booking. Request a quote from your approved account or identify that account when contacting Darren. We confirm eligibility and record the quotation or booking reference when used. Account approval does not itself book or pay for an assessment.
There is no published expiry date at present. Any withdrawal or change is announced prospectively and does not remove a discount already agreed in an accepted booking. A refund or cancellation is assessed on the discounted contract price under the applicable cancellation terms. The offer does not change the standard of service or customers’ statutory rights.
