Fire Safety Training for Nursing and Residential Home Staff. £400 (per course).
This course is designed to give care home staff an understanding of the actions to take in the event of discovering a fire or hearing the fire alarm sound in the work place.
The course content includes:
Theoretical
Fire precautions within the care home
Causes of fire in the care home
The triangle of combustion
Classes of fire and method of extinction
Recognition and operation of fire extinguishers
The fire plan and its implementation
Staff members responsabilities
Actions to be taken in the event of a fire
Practical
Delegates will operate fire extinguishers and extinguish controlled training fires
Course duration is taylored to suite the needs of the care home
Training can be conducted out of hours

On completion of this course all delegates will have a clear understanding and appreciation of fire safety issues in their workplace and be able to operate a fire extinguisher correctly and safely. Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance and a course information folder which is designed to be used to aid continuation training.
