Medical Gases & Oxygen Therapy Training Courses
This course will enable successful students to offer Oxygen and Entonox as part of their medical treatment of injuries or illness. Candidates must already be trained in first aid and hold a valid certificate.
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student; there is no formal final examination. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for a period of one year.
This half day course includes both theory and practical sessions within a relaxed atmosphere that is designed to promote confidence.
Oxygen (O²)
A greater chance of recovery can be afforded to people who are injured, unconscious, have stopped breathing or are suffering from an acute medical emergency by the administration of supplemental O² This course covers the use of Oxygen as a medical intervention and is aimed at personnel who are required to give Oxygen as part of treatment.
Entonox (N²O - O²)
Entonox is a safe and effective analgesic gas composed of 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen. It is widely used within the NHS, Industry and Voluntary Aid Societies for pain relief for ill or injured people.
When used correctly and given time to work it can help patients pain or discomfort and allows them to be handled and transported with a minimum of stress. Entonox is suitable for use with patients who are suffering from heart conditions and experiencing chest pains.

In House Courses - Medical Gases & Oxygen Therapy Training Courses
In-house courses can be arranged at a time to suit your business needs – this can include weekend or evening courses, usually at no extra cost. All equipment required can be provided by 1st Aid Fire. All that is required from your company is a room of suitable size for teaching and an outside area/hard standing for practical fire training.
